Welcome to Me, Myself and IVF Blog
Hello! Welcome to my blog. My name is Mel, and I’m a 40-year-old woman living in NSW, Australia. As a single person, I have chosen to go through the IVF process using a donor.
I began my IVF research in early 2024 and have been documenting my experiences along the way. I enjoy journaling and decided to share some of my story on this blog. Here, I will discuss the steps I have taken, including attending specialist appointments, navigating how to access my superannuation to cover IVF costs, selecting a sperm donor, and going through the egg collection and embryo transfer processes.
When I first considered pursuing IVF as a single person, I researched all the necessary steps involved in the IVF process. During this time, I also wanted to connect with other women who were in similar situations. I didn’t know anyone who had gone through IVF, whether as a couple or as a single person. I learned a lot by reading various articles and listening to podcasts where women shared their IVF experiences. Their stories resonated with me and provided the motivation I needed to keep going during times of self-doubt. Throughout this blog, I will include links to podcasts that I have enjoyed along the way.
The path of IVF is different for everyone and comes with its fair share of ups and downs. After completing one step in the IVF process, another awaits, and sometimes you may need to revisit earlier steps. I truly believe that sharing stories can serve as a wonderful source of support. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and find helpful tips along the way.
Sending all my love to anyone considering or currently undergoing the IVF process ❤️
